TERMS & CONDITIONS

*DOG POLICY We are dog friendly - we are happy to offer our guests the option of bringing their dog at a cost of $25 per night (must be fully vaccinated; fully house-trained; well socialised; familiar with off-leash parks; age 1yo+; sterilised). Petra is a 30 acre property with lovely areas for you to walk with your dog, however please note that there is no outside enclosed area, and there are other dogs (like an off-leash park) plus wildlife (kangaroos, ducks, birds, etc).  Guests are requested to bring their dog’s bedding and dog towels, and keep them off the furniture and beds (additional cleaning charges will be passed on, if evidence of dogs on lounge/beds). Guests are requested to take their dogs with them when they go out. Please bring poo bags & dispose of in the outside green bin. (Maximum one dog per chalet unless by prior arrangement - if you have two dogs ($50/night), please call 0438 627 767 to discuss).

Please keep a close eye on your dog’s toilet habits inside the chalet. We understand s/he may never wee inside at home, but s/he will obviously be able to smell that other dogs have been there. We do thoroughly clean our chalets of course, but a dog’s nose is of course much more acute than ours; particularly very young and very old dogs, who are sometimes ‘triggered’ to ‘mark their territory’. Please bring wee mats/crate and roll up the chalet rugs/mats if there’s a risk. Unfortunately, we are not able to risk unsterilised dogs at Petra for a variety of reasons, our apologies.

Also, before letting off-leash, please note your dogs' behaviour (especially younger dogs) regarding kangaroos/ducks, especially breeds/dogs that may be more likely to chase/round up (eg. cattle dog/kelpie/border collie/greyhound/whippet). Ideally, you should only let dogs off-leash if you have ‘good recall’ on them (the whole property is unfenced). Having said this, trained/well-behaved dogs are usually better with other dogs if they are off-leash (so the dogs can decide their own hierarchy). Please be mindful of any bushy/reedy areas in warmer months (snakes are possible in the country, albeit we have never had any dogs/humans bitten at Petra (20+ years of operation), and much of the property is landscaped for enjoyment/visibility).

Cleaning, Breakages or Damage: Cleaning is included however please note that cleaning charges may be incurred if cleaning in excess of the normal level of cleaning is required. Please report any breakages or damage that occur during your stay > to report: call/text 0438 627 767 or email contact@petraoliveoil.com.au (with photos). Breakage/damage may be charged for, and will certainly be charged for if not reported.
*COVID 19 CLEANING / LABOUR SHORTAGE SURCHARGE: Currently $50 King Chalet; $40 Queen Chalet, however Petra reserves the right to pass on additional cleaning charges later at any time (due to current conditions). These charges could be $50+/hour, and cannot be confirmed ahead of time.
Above $50/$40 charges apply currently to Standard Rate bookings – may be more in peak periods.

At present we are undertaking MASSIVE disinfecting of every surface after every stay (for everyone’s safety) [this includes but is not limited to; light switches, remote controls, blind chains, all handles (windows, doors, oven, fridge, etc…)]. This means there are ADDITIONAL CLEANING COSTS. As a guide, our chalets have previously taken 1.5-2 hours to clean, but with NEW CLEANING REQUIRED this can take up to 5+ hours. In addition, at present there is also a significant labour shortage in (rural) WA which means cleaning rates have increased at a staggering rate in recent times.  We are absorbing most of this cost, but we need to pass some of the cost. Bed/Bathroom is made up with fresh (professionally laundered) linen/towels for your stay.

Please note: we are not a ‘hotel’, so there is no daily cleaning / turn-down service.
[For stays of 7+ nights, extra linen & towels will be provided in your chalet].
Please leave all towels, tea towels & cloths HUNG UP TO DRY (do not leave on the floor or folded up). Mouldy towels will incur extra charges

Heating/Cooling: each chalet has a reverse-cycle air-conditioning unit for heating and cooling. Since covid, we are no longer able to provide extra blankets in the chalets. There are (now) winter doonas on the beds all year round. Please bring an extra blanket in winter if you are concerned. Also you can set the temperature on the air-conditioner and leave on “auto” (“A” symbol) so it can thermostat during the night.

WIFI: sorry, we don’t have… but personal hotspot works well at Petra.

No Smoking allowed. [Never throw cigarette butts anywhere > bushfire hazard]

THIRD PERSON / CHILDREN/INFANTS POLICY: Please note, as per our website descriptions and accommodation licensing, our chalets are designed for two people, with either a Queen or King bed in each chalet. For a third guest (aged 5years+; able to swim), a foldabed ($50/night) is required > foldabed is made up with fresh linen & towels, although please note that it is a shared space as our chalets are all 'studio/open plan' in style. Maximum of one foldabed (3 guests) per chalet. There are only two foldabeds available in total at Petra. Infants pre-walking (aged <9mths) are permissible if you can bring your own portacot/suitable equivalent. ALL NAPPIES TO BE INDIVIDUALLY BAGGED AND DISPOSED OF PROPERLY. There is an outside green bin available near your Unit. Unfortunately we are not able to accept toddlers/children 9 months – 5 years (with 3 unfenced dams on the property). Supervision of children is required AT ALL TIMES. [Note: guests are not permitted to sleep on the couch/floor and we are required to provide beds for all booked guests].

TARIFF TERMS & CONDITIONS
The booking is not confirmed until the 50% deposit (or total tariff if booking within 7 days to arrival date; 30 days prior for Xmas/Easter/Long Weekend bookings) is processed and you have received a BOOKING CONFIRMATION EMAIL. You can elect to pay the TOTAL TARIFF on the CUSTOMER NOTE on your BOOKING FORM.
Please take care when entering your credit card details and ensure there are sufficient credit/funds in your account. Please phone us on 0438 627 767 if your current credit card is due to expire prior to the processing of your Balance or you can elect to pay the TOTAL TARIFF on the Customer Note on the Booking Form at the time of your booking. An ‘additional processing fee of $2% or $10’ (whichever is greater) will apply if ANY transaction is declined / cannot be automatically deducted, as Eway charge us for all transactions whether successful or unsuccessful. NOTE: Please don't email your credit card details as this is unsafe (due to email hacking).

CANCELLATION OR TRANSFER POLICY
NOTE: Please provide as much NOTICE TO US as possible if you wish to cancel/transfer your booking to enable us to re-book where possible.
Standard Rate
CANCELLATION
At least 30 days’ notice > deposit is refundable less a cancellation fee of $75.
Less than 30 days’ notice > the deposit is not refundable.
TRANSFER
At least 30 days’ notice > the booking can be transferred to another date within 9 months of original booking date.
Less than 30 days’ notice > half the deposit is not refundable but half the deposit can be transferred to another date within 9 months of original booking dates.
The current advertised Standard rates and the same number of days as the original booking dates will apply to new transfer dates.
Any Transfer or Date Reductions to current bookings also incur a transfer admin fee of $35.
There is NO admin fee to ADD additional dates to your current booking dates.
Long Weekend / Holiday Rate
CANCELLATION
At least 60 days’ notice > half of the deposit is refundable.
Less than 60 days’ notice > the deposit is not refundable.
TRANSFER
At least 60 days’ notice > the booking can be transferred to another date within 9 months of original booking date.
Less than 60 days’ notice > half the deposit is not refundable but half the deposit can be transferred to another date within 9 months of original booking dates.
Less than 30 days’ notice > transfer likely not be possible, sorry.
The current advertised Long Weekend/Holiday rates and the same number of days as the original booking dates will apply to new transfer dates (even if new transfer dates fall in a lower ‘rate period’).
Any Transfer or Date Reductions to current bookings also incur a transfer admin fee of $35.
There is NO admin fee to ADD additional dates to your current booking dates.
Easter & Xmas Rate
CANCELLATION
At least 120 days’ notice > half of the deposit is refundable.
Less than 120 days’ notice > the deposit is not refundable and the total tariff is payable.
TRANSFER
At least 120 days’ notice > the booking can be transferred to another date within 9 months of original booking date.
Less than 120 days’ notice > half the deposit is not refundable but half the deposit can be transferred to another date within 9 months of original booking dates.
Less than 60 days’ notice > transfer likely not be possible, sorry.
Less than 30 days’ notice > transfer not possible, sorry.
The current advertised Xmas/Easter rates and the same number of days as the original booking will apply to new transfer dates (even if new transfer dates fall in a lessor ‘rate period’).
Any Transfer or Date Reductions to current bookings also incur a transfer admin fee of $35.
There is NO admin fee to ADD additional dates to your current booking dates.
ALL RATE PERIODS
If the ANY booking is cancelled with less than 7 days’ notice (or 30 days’ notice for Xmas Rate bookings), the total tariff is payable/forfeited and cannot be transferred to other dates.
*Note : $75 surcharge applies for Xmas Day, Boxing Day, NY Day & Public Holiday Check-in / Check-out dates in the Xmas Rate period.
